To the last sunset started as an unreleased song and finnish lyrics that I had to have translated to understand. The song is about "hän" (finnish gender-neutral personal pronoun) who "pushes away,
even though wants to keep close" and "is at a point of no return". These parts of the lyrics inspired the space theme and the main character became an astronaut, so that the gender doesn't matter it could be about anybody. The main character is "Hän" the astronaut who's on a mission to collect stars which will be used to light up dead stars. The story is a mix of the memories from Hän, and the imagination of the other character who is still on Earth thinking about Hän and hopes for their return in vain.
FUN FACTS: Finding the balance between sadness and a hopeful ending was difficult. In the first version Hän dies in a technical malfunction, but this ending was too tragic. In another version Hän and the other character reunite in the end, but this ending was too cliché and the test audience wasn't satisfied with this resolution, so in the final version Hän continues with the mission but never returns to Earth.
